Softpay does not participate in the settlement of funds between the acquirer and the merchant bank.
Softpay simply facilitates transactions towards the processor (which sends it to the acquirer, which handles connection to the banks).
All payout timelines, reporting, and the transfer of funds to the merchant bank are managed exclusively by the acquirer, based on their policies and the merchant acquiring agreement with them.
Payout schedules may vary by card type (e.g., Dankort vs. international cards) and are determined solely by the acquirer – never by Softpay.
End-of-Day on Softpay Terminals
Softpay terminals do not require end-of-day, reconciliation, or settlement actions from the user.
- A transaction is fully completed from the terminal perspective as soon as it is approved or declined.
- No additional steps are available or required on the terminal.
Softpay settles transactions immediately with all supported processors.
Understanding Nets Batch Numbers
Nets uses batch numbers only for reporting purposes. Each transaction sent to Nets includes a batch number that groups transactions in the reports available from Nets.
- A batch is not considered closed by Nets until they receive a transaction with a higher batch number. This means a batch remain open until the next transaction with a higher batch number is processed.
Softpay default batch number roll-over occurs at 2 AM UTC (3 AM CEST / 4 AM CET).
