What does "Release Terminal" mean?
For all processing (except Nets-based) the acquirer provides a limited number of Terminal IDs (TIDs).
A TID is an essential part of the terminal configuration and defines a terminal at a store for the acquirer.
Using "Release Terminal" in Softpay app will clear the current acquiring configuration on the Softpay app and remove its store assignment. This makes the terminal configuration (and TID) available for reuse - either on the same device or another device.
After releasing, it is necessary to select a store before Softpay app on the device can process transactions again.
When to use?
If you want to reinstall Softpay or move your installation to another device, use "Release Terminal" before removing the app.
Requirements
Releasing a terminal is available from Softpay app 3.0. If you are using an older version, please update the app before attempting this action.
